Psalm 119:37 -- Turn my eyes away from vanity [all those worldly, meaningless things that distract—let Your priorities be mine], And restore me [with renewed energy] in Your ways.
Day four of not feeling well and fever has returned. It's not covid so just an annoying sinus infection that won't go away. I've struggled with focusing on prayer and reading the Word today. It's just tough to do when you don't feel good, but every single time I do it, it's always so worth it. The peace and joy inside are renewed and my focus comes back to the hills, awaiting the morning. Today's Psalm really made me think about just how many meaningless and worthless things we're all buried under in this day and age.
Christian, this is something we all need to think about, take inventory of, and talk to the Lord on. Anything we put before Him is an idol and it will keep us from this restoration and renewal that is found in His ways.
