Surveying the Journey Ahead.

3 John 1 --- The elder to the beloved Gaius, whom I love in truth.

Yesterday, our journey in 2 John ended, but the adventure isn't over! The ending of 2 John has led us to the yet undiscovered territory of 3 John. What mysteries, treasures, and wonders lie ahead? We'll soon find out as the Lord leads the way into this new journey!

I always start new books prayer.

Lord, I thank you for this new day and this new adventure in Your Word. The journey in 2 John was amazing and there was so much you led me through in such a short book. For me it felt far too short, but the ending of that path has led to the new one in 3 John. Thank You for that, Lord. As we go forward together in Your Word, I ask for wisdom to take in all You show. I ask for ears to hear Your voice. I just want to spend time with You and know You more and more by being in Your presence each day; walking through Your word together. Abiding in You, in Your love, in Your truth. Let my focus be on this day and the worries and troubles of tomorrow and yesterday be left in Your mighty hands. I trust You. I lean not on my own understanding. I acknowledge You in all my ways and ask to see the next step on the straight path you have before me. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

I read 3 John in the ESV and AMP translations and studied a few different overviews of it. I also got an awesome Bible Background commentary, which focuses on giving historical and cultural insights verse by verse. It's so vital to survey the map of where we'll be going and have context of things!

This is really all for today. Not a complete rambling trail of words recapping things. Just a short stop for prayer and preparation of diving into the verse-by-verse journey tomorrow.

As I've mentioned before this daily recap is something I do out of obedience to the Lord. He put on my heart in prayer at the end of 2021, that I could no longer hide and to share my journey and recap my daily quiet times for all to see. I don't know why, and it hasn't always been easy as I spent most of my life trying to fly under the radar, not rock the boat and avoiding confrontation. The Lord had me to throw those out the window this year. I write my recap focused in way for my Christian brothers and sisters. I always have a heart for those who do not know Jesus, but I also have a deep passion for wanting to stir up my family Christ Jesus.

Well, I ended up making this a rambling recap about my boring stuff. LOL. I pray something I heard Pastor Thomas Quinn say last night, "Lord let me simply be an instrument in Your hands to bring forth Your truth and Your love.". That is all.

Be the Berean, get into the Bible and have your own adventure in His presence. You'll never regret the time you spend with Him.
