Praise You Lord for Shattering Fear!

Psalm 9:1 --- I will give thanks and praise the Lord, with all my heart; I will tell aloud all Your wonders and marvelous deeds.

Thank you to everyone who has prayed for Amanda's back. Praise God, I'm excited to share that she had an MRI last Friday and talked to the neurosurgeon yesterday. He told and showed her the L4/5 discs have not only almost fully retracted back into place, but the L4 one that was ruptured is healed up. She's still hurting pretty bad in the lower back and legs, but he said the pain she is having now is just from the nerves being agitated. The amazing blessing is the pain isn't coming from back damage, bulging or ruptured discs any longer! Thank you, Lord! They told us 6 months ago this type of ruptured disc 99% of the time can only be fixed with surgery, but yesterday the neurosurgeon said, "you are no longer a candidate for back surgery as your back is healed up.". She won't be powerlifting anytime soon, but praise God for healing where we were told it would eventually come down to surgery!

As I tried to push into reading/studying 1 John 4 I just kept being drawn back into prayer and praising Him for Amanda's back!!

See, it's not just the physical healing that's happened in her back, it's the mental healing that came with knowing about the physical. It's the weight of possible back surgery that is gone. Praise God, she is no longer even a candidate for surgery! Wow! It's not even an option any longer. Amanda said she just wanted an answer before that visit yesterday, she was tired of not knowing what the next steps would be and He not only got her an answer but removed an entire path from the equation!

There was a fear that kept trying to attack from all angles over this. We know fear isn't from God, so we went to war daily and stood against it! We didn't lean on our understanding but instead, acknowledged God who did understand, who had the power to bring healing, who had the ability to give peace in the middle of it all!

Now, even though there is still pain for her physically from the nerves, there is no longer the weight of fear trying to push in. It took several hours after the visit for it to fully sink in but when it did, I saw her entire countenance change. She smiled in a way that was so lighthearted and full of joy it brings tears to my eyes now as I think about it.

Never stop taking your hurts, pains, and everything to God. It may seem like nothing is happening, but stand firm on His word, be unwilling to back down and give into fear. Take hold of Proverbs 3:5-6, trust Him, throw your understanding out the window, acknowledge Him in all of it, then expect Him to fulfill His promise in Proverbs 3:6 to make the path straight. He'll give you the next straight step on that path if you listen. It may not look like you think it should, it might not come when you want it to, but He will never lead you wrong! Amanda's back isn't perfectly healed according to medical standards, but it is no less a miracle what God has done!

I'm led to share this final verse as I close out:

Luke 5:22-26 --- When Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answered them, “Why do you question in your hearts? Which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Rise and walk’? But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—he said to the man who was paralyzed—“I say to you, rise, pick up your bed and go home.” And immediately he rose up before them and picked up what he had been lying on and went home, glorifying God. And amazement seized them all, and they glorified God and were filled with awe, saying, “We have seen extraordinary things today.”
