More Than the Watchmen for the Morning.

Psalm 130:5-6

5 I wait for the Lord, my soul waits,

and in His word I hope;

6 my soul waits for the Lord

more than watchmen for the morning,

more than watchmen for the morning.

The other day I had a friend ask me to send him a Psalm to read. My go to is always Psalm 139 because God used it to save my life, so I'm quite partial to it. Today I woke up sick again and tried my best to pray and when I opened my Bible to spend time with the Lord, I heard my friend's words echo back about needing a Psalm.

So, I prayed on it and landed in Psalm 130 and just read it over and over. It brought me such peace to read it while feeling awful today. It brought me hope and strength knowing He is with me, and He will walk me through being sick.

I was reminded that where we choose to focus can be powerfully good or destructively bad. All day yesterday and this morning I battled between trusting the Lord and then being concerned over possibly having covid. When I finally read today's Psalm, I resolved myself to set my focus on the Lord and watch for the morning. I know God's with me through whatever it is, so I've let go of the what ifs.

Christian, where you choose to focus your thoughts and mind, your heart is sure to follow. So be extremely intentional about what you focus on, especially in the storms of life, it can be the difference between making it through and ending up on the rocks.

You are loved. You are prayed over. You are not alone.
