1 Peter 1:3 -- Blessed [gratefully praised and adored] be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant and boundless mercy has caused us to be born again [that is, to be reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, and set apart for His purpose] to an ever-living hope and confident assurance through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
On to 1 Peter today. Instantly the Lord caught me with "Living Hope". It just instantly made me think of a parent wrapping a blanket, fresh out of the dryer, around their child. Then hugging them close. There is warmth from the blanket, warmth from the arms of the parent and the warmth of love all mixed together.
Isn't it amazing that we aren't given just plain old hope or dead hope, but a living hope through Jesus' resurrection? I don't know about you but for me it keeps me going in the midst of this cold world and the stress and storms of life.
