John 7:5-9 --- For not even His brothers believed in Him. 6 So Jesus said to them, “My time is not yet here, but your time is always ready. 7 The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify about it, that its deeds are evil. 8 Go up to the feast yourselves; I am not going up to this feast, because My time has not yet fully arrived.” 9 Now having said these things to them, He stayed in Galilee.
What jumped out today was Jesus saying "My time" twice as He responds to His brothers.
Time has a few different words for it in the Greek. There are Chronos and Kairos. Chronos is chronological time or time itself. Kairos is a specific time, right time, opportune time. So, how it's used in these verses is Kairos.
As we'll see further into Chapter Seven, Jesus does end up going to the feast, but as He points out to His brothers, it wasn't the right or opportune time right then.
God's timing is a very crucial part of His will for us. We see Jesus, being fully in line with God the Father, understood this perfectly.
Christian, if you trust God's will and direction, then trust His timing as well. It's not always easy but the key is to stay connected with the Lord every step of the way. Many times people take off running and end up far ahead of where God was leading. Others can become paralyzed and stop moving all together just waiting. If you stay in step with Him every day, it will be quite hard to miss your Kairos, your right or opportune time.
Well, this is where the journey went today in my quiet and study time. I pray you will not take my word on any of this but instead let it move you to get into the Word yourself.
You are loved. You are prayed over. You are not alone
