1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 -- Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
Today's adventure with the Lord landed us in 1 Thessalonians. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday of the entire year. Not just because of all the food, but because it's always been a peaceful time of reflection for me. To slow down and look back on what I'm thankful for. This year feels different after coming out of 2020-2021, where the entire world was upside down. For me I realize it's more than just looking back for once. It's about right now, this day, choosing to stand and act upon God's direction and will for me and my family.
Rejoice always.
Pray without ceasing.
Give thanks in EVERYTHING. (It doesn't say give thanks FOR everything, but IN everything.)
For this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
Christian, this isn't just some happy warm verse to dust off and post on social media for Thanksgiving. It tells us this is the will of God for you and me.
I pray you have a wonderful Thanksgiving week and that you will make the choice to follow the Lord's will for you in this verse. Rejoice, Pray, Give Thanks every day, all day, in everything!
This world has enough confusion, anger, hate, and loneliness, so let us be salt and light and bring His love and truth. The world doesn't need more of us, it needs more of Jesus, so we'd better get in alignment with His will so we can allow Him to speak truth and love through us.

You are loved. You are prayed over. You are not alone.
