GUEST ARTIST & WRITER - SPOT M.
These paintings come from a vision that the Lord showed me several years ago. In the vision the Lord showed me a brown-tan wall of rock, it looked like sandstone.
It seemed like a long time passed and all I saw was this rock wall and at some point I understood that this was an image of my heart.
More time passed but now there was a change as a small crack appeared in the rock, it was a very small crack - the faintest of pencil lines on a drawing that one is barely able to see but sees nonetheless. More time passes. Another crack appears and then one more. Then my eyes are drawn to one crack and I see the slightest trace of water in the crack, it is not even a drop of water, it is just a trace. More time passes and the other cracks start leaking. As the water oozes out you can tell it is under great pressure. The trace turns into a drop of water, the drop of water turns into several drops just barely coming out of the rock, and the several drops eventually became a trickle of water. It occurs to me as I write this of God's great patience with us and that he views time very differently than we do, a day is as a thousand years and a thousand years is as a day to the Lord. The water leaking out was under great pressure, I just knew it by the way the droplets formed, the way the trickle started and then turned into a small but steady flow. Eventually the water started to shoot out of the cracks and then the rock face gave way and blew out and water just poured through it - clear beautiful life giving water. Water that was wild and powerful, a flow that could never be stopped. Chunks of rock continued to be washed away. The vision ended.
The water is Holy Spirit. My hard heart is no match for the unrelenting love and power of God's Holy Spirit. And just as the water pushed its way through the rock and eventually burst out in a torrent so Holy Spirit works in my heart, to bring life, to bring a break through. I cannot break the rock of my heart, not in the vision and not in life, God has to break through and He is doing it, and He is doing it in His timing.
