Father, Glorify Your Name.

John 12:27-28 - “Now is my soul troubled. And what shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? But for this purpose I have come to this hour. 28 Father, glorify your name.” Then a voice came from heaven: “I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again.”

Lord Thank You for always being there, never changing, never leaving. How magnificent that Your Word remains forever and if we stand upon it we won't be shaken. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Jesus stands only a few days away from betrayal and a very brutal, bloody, and violent death. He knew exactly what was going to take place and it was the very purpose He came into this world. With His soul troubled or the Greek tarassō which is stirred, agitated (like boiling water), inward commotion, disquieted, He speaks of a prayer that He'll never pray. Then with all of this roiling inside, He moves His focus to one thing…

"Father, glorify You name."

Jesus' focus and prayer was not on Himself or His very real problem, but instead for the Father to be glorified.

Christian, where is your focus in the middle of your life's trials and tribulations? If you're following Jesus as He commanded you to do, you'll want to pay very close attention to what He's done here.

Think about it, pray about it, talk with a Christian brother or sister about it.

Don't take my word on it, go to the Lord, get into the Word, follow Him yourself!

You are loved. You are prayed over. You are not alone.
