Destination Jesus

John 11:20-22 -- So when Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went and met him, but Mary remained seated in the house. 21 Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. 22 But even now I know that whatever you ask from God, God will give you.”

Thank You Lord for everything and in everything this day! In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

We're back on the road of John Eleven. Following the Lord is such an amazing journey. So much so that sometimes it's easy to run ahead and end up journeying on your own. Sure, the Lord is always with us, but if we're ahead of Him, it can cause some challenges.

In today's verses it jumps out to me how Martha hears Jesus is coming and chooses to go out and meet Him. It'd been four days since her brother Lazarus was buried. The hope they'd had that Jesus would come and keep him from death was gone. Yet she hears Jesus is coming and she goes to Him.

Regardless of where we are, what our circumstances are, no matter how good, no matter how bad, running to Jesus is always the right thing to do.

Christian, is Jesus your destination when things are darkest, the worst has occurred, and it seems hopeless? If not, why? It's quite a serious thing to know.

That's all for today. I pray you had a wonderful Christmas and let where Jesus is be your destination for 2023!

You are loved. You are prayed over. You are not alone.
