2 John 1 --- The elder: To the elect lady and her children, whom I love in the truth—and not only I, but also all who know the truth—
Today the Lord and I have gone out the front door for a new journey. I look forward to whatever adventures come from following Him down the road of 2 John.
Today was mainly a lot of prayer over the new journey, reading the entire book, then diving into multiple study sources on the history and background of it.
When I first opened my Bible to the book of 2 John, I knew it was a short book but wow, it's short. There are only 298 words in this one, compared to the 2517 in 1 John. BUT what I love about God's Word is it doesn't matter how many words are used because with Him a single word, a single breath contains infinite, eternal depth, and power!
Upon reading the entire book today, we'll be visiting familiar territory as it greatly focuses on Truth, Love and staying away from false teaching. So instead of diving into the study side, I simply open today with prayer.
Lord, thank you for the amazing journey that we took through the book of 1 John. Walking with You through it was breathtaking and eye-opening. As we head out the front door today, I ask for wisdom and thank You for the courage and strength found in knowing that You lead every step of the way. I pray for my brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus, that they may be blessed, and I ask Lord, you would draw them out the front door of their lives and onto the path of Your Living Word, so they may find You there. Nothing bonds two together like spending time together on the road! In Jesus name, Amen.
